Simple (and cute) DIY Halloween Costumes

Halloween is just around the corner, and we know that with school, extracurricular activities, work, and the process of looking fabulous, you may be worried about not having enough time to find the perfect Halloween costume. But don’t worry, Kandy Kiss has got your back! We know what it’s like to not have enough time to put together an outfit. We also know that you probably like to make a fashion statement with bold new clothes and accessories. However, just remember you can never go wrong with the classics. So this year, we came up with a few original, trendy, and easy costumes you can DIY last minute.

Here are the 4 DIY costumes we came up with:

  1. Cowgirl: with some blue jean shorts, cowboy boots, a flannel, and your hair in braids, you can go from costume-less to a cute country cowgirl! Be sure to add a cowgirl hat for the finishing touch.
  1. Cat: The simplest, and most classic Halloween costume. First you’ll need some black clothes (i.e. a black dress, skirt, top, jumpsuit, etc). To top it off, draw some whiskers and a nose on your face. Also, let’s not forget cat ears and maybe even a tail! Feel free to add some red lipstick and personalize your costume with one of Kandy Kisses’ fur vests. You’ll look purrrrfect!
  1. Tourist. Another classic Halloween costume that never fails! As a tourist, all you need is a fanny pack, some type of Hawaiian or button up shirt, shorts, and some sneakers! To get more into the touristy role, throw on a visor or baseball hat, a map to stick in your pocket, and some binoculars and you’re set to go.
  1. Schoolgirl. The schoolgirl costume is a go-to for any sort of costume party. It’s original, distinct, and definitely recognizable! For this look, we chose Serena Van der Woodsen, aka Blake Lively, as our inspiration. Pair any white collared shirt with a plaid skirt, a tie, and some flats. Converse or even boots work well too. However, if you live in a colder area, you can even add a sweater like Blake did. Can’t tie a tie? You can always wear scarf instead.
