Easter Outfit Ideas

No matter your age, as soon as a fellow fashionista spots Easter on their calendar, the first thing that comes to mind is pastel colors and springtime fashion!  It’s also the welcoming of  April and Spring! It’s finally time to break out the lightweight sweaters and flowy dresses.

We have rounded up a couple of style tips to help you find the perfect outfit for you fashion-lovers to stuff your face with jelly beans and chocolate covered eggs!

Dress – Who doesn’t love a maxi dress in Spring?! I’m sure we all have terrifying memories of our parents dressing us up in frilly dresses that were “Easter appropriate”. Luckily, we are old enough to dress ourselves and have now realized that dresses don’t have to be formal or “holiday appropriate”. They should be fun and fit your personality! The best thing about Spring dresses is that they come in all different patterns and styles.

Pastel colors – What’s Easter without a little pastel fun?! Pastel colors are the staple color wheel of Spring! Whether it’s pastel blue, pink, purple and yellow, have fun and release the pastel princess within you!

Light weight accessories – Less is definitely more when it comes to accessorizing! Whether it’s a pair of earrings, a lightweight necklace or a fringe purse, make sure you choose wisely on the accessory you want to include. Or maybe you would like to pay homage to the happy childhood memories of you wearing a sun hat? Of course, we advise you to put your own style and flare into it!

Top 5 Things Fashionistas do to Stay Stylish

Plan Out Your Outfits

Fail to plan, plan to fail. That saying is definitely relevant in the fashion world! Far from popular belief, your favorite style icons don’t just “wake up like that” they actually tried to look that way. There’s no magical skill to look well put-together, you just have to plan ahead!

Give Yourself Time to Get Ready

How many times do you recall waking up in the morning and storming out of the door wishing you had more time to put yourself together. When fashionistas are rocking their outfits from head to toe, it’s because they’ve given themselves enough time to get ready. Looking good is a process, you shouldn’t rush it!

Look for Style Inspiration

Some of the best outfit inspiration can be found in the blogs of your favorite style icons! Scroll through your Instagram or Pinterest feed for the best style inspiration. Treat your style like a test, you can’t ace it unless you do your studying.

Know When to keep it Casual

Although we do love a pair of pumps and a little black dress, there is a time and place for everything. If the occasion is right, never be afraid to rock your favorite sneakers and a t-shirt. Always consider where you’re going to see if your outfit is appropriate.

Don’t Overdo It

Choose your statement piece(s) very carefully, you never want to overdo it with the accessories. It’s true, less is more. Although accessories are a great way to spruce up an outfit, they can also overwhelm an outfit. As Coco Chanel once stated “when accessorizing, always take off the last thing you put on”. So proceed with caution when layering accessories.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
My name is Grace Lee. I am a junior currently studying journalism with a specialization in public relations at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Besides being a full-time student, I am also the curator behind the fashion blog, Gracefullee Made. I started Gracefullee Made five years ago, in hopes to inspire not only myself, but also others through my personal style and life tidbits.

If you could sneak into anyone’s closet whose would you peek at?
Olivia Palermo. She never ceases to amaze me with her style.

What style rule do you always follow?
I don’t follow any style rule in particular because I like to expand my limits when it comes to fashion. One rule I do follow is preference and flattering first, trends second. To reiterate—I think it’s important to buy items that you like and what suit you first before indulging in trends.

What is your favorite quote?
“Life is tough my darling, but so are you.”

What inspired your blog?
I aspired to be a writer when I was younger, but I was also infatuated with fashion. In high school, I carried around a design book with sketches and trends that I would jot down. My friends and family encouraged me to blog about it, and so here I am. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Three things that are always in your purse?
iPhone, sticky notes, and a portable phone charger.

Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
Pinterest, mistakes I make in life, other bloggers, and holidays

Best style advice you’ve ever given or received?
Best style advice I’ve ever received is to be original. It’s cliché, but it’s the most important advice that reminds me time and time again. You know yourself better than anyone, so listen to what you think is best when it comes to style. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, but also never forget what your standards are.

What’s the one thing in your closet that you couldn’t live without?
My leather jacket. I own several leather jackets, but it’s definitely an item that I could not live without.

In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
A great blog is consistent. Whether it’s content or style, the gist of the blog should always remain consistent. A great blog interacts with its readers and does its best to put aside enough time to bring every post to life. Meaning, hard work is shown through the content and every post is written in the best of its ability.

Wedgie Fit Jeans to be the Newest Denim Trend

Levi’s has officially released their new denim line, “The Wedgie Fit Jean” (Yes, we’re completely serious). When we first heard the name of the newest denim trend from Levi’s we were confused, yet intrigued. A fashion style is not what usually comes to mind when referring to a “wedgie”. For most people, that term reminds us of the dreaded distress from a hungry derriere, for lack of better words, and of course a 3rd grade act of violence. Levi’s is really changing the game with this new line that is designed to show off a woman’s assets. The wedgie jean was made to mirror the aesthetic of the original 501 Levi’s jeans by embracing a vintage look. The denim jean is high-waisted and hugs the hip and accentuates the waist for a flattering fit. The back pockets of the Wedgie Jean are tilted slightly inward to “create the allure of a mom butt”. That’s definitely something we never knew we wanted.

Despite the comical name, these jeans actually depict everything we look for in a pair of jeans this season. The jeans are available in two different mid-wash blues: Classic Tint and Coyote Desert and an off-white version: Vintage Chalk. They come in sizes 24 to 32 and are predicted to be a popular denim trend for Spring 2016. Celebrities and fashionistas are already strolling the streets in these accentuating jeans.pasted image 0-1
