Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
Well first and foremost, I’m a mother of two and that’s my best job to date! I’ve always been a fashion addict, never had room for clothes in my closet no matter where I lived and I could never get rid of a piece no matter how old it was! I grew up in a family that all came here from Italy with clothing alterations as their trade, and I watched them grow their trade into booming businesses and boutiques. Needless to say, my aunts have always been my greatest inspiration. When I was 16 I competed in the miss Florida teen USA pageant, graduated high school that same year with honors, went on to college to get my degree in psychology and then went on to become a paramedic. However once I had my first baby, I couldn’t bring myself to leave them and decided that their upbringing was far more important than any other task I could’ve taken on. Becoming a stay at home mom wasn’t all I thought it would be at first, I quickly became stagnant and bored at home, always in my pajamas and with little to no adult interaction. I started going loopy with all the My Little Pony reruns so I took a hobby of mine which was making hair bows for my newborn daughter and turned it into a hobby business, and from there the fashion addict in me couldn’t help but be suppressed and it naturally evolved (with the help of Pinterest) into my fashion blog.

If you could sneak into anyone’s closet whose would you peek at?
Probably Jennifer Lopez. She never fails to impress, no matter what!
unnamed

What style rule do you always follow?
You gotta feel good in it. It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s about how it makes you feel. Beauty comes from within, and as they say happy girls shine the brightest, so if something doesn’t make you stand up tall with your head held high, get rid of it.

What is your favorite quote?
“In one year from now, you’ll wish you would have started now.”
That’s always been a big motivator for me!

What inspired your blog?
My children, coupled with my love of dressing up, even if I had nowhere to go. I’ve always had tons of clothes but nowhere to wear them to, that’s why when I found out about the blogging world, I felt like it was calling my name. Finally, a place to share my love of clothing with like minded people, all while still being a book worm at home playing on the computer or reading the latest novel I’ve added to my book collection. After having kids I wanted to be the best example for them, especially my daughter whom I hope learns that confidence is the most important asset. The content of my blog comes from my love of fashion, and the name comes from them; my Sweet Pea (Giada) and Apple of My Eye (Marco).

Three things that are always in your purse?
My phone, my bronzer and my mascara.

Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
That’s a tricky question because the answer varies with each post. I’m inspired by anything and everything, sometimes it’s just one word. And from that one word, a whole idea forms in my head, other times it’s from a song, a movie, a famous quote or even a book. I’m constantly drawing inspiration from the things around me, almost anything can inspire beautiful things and bring forth creativity, even the darkest of things.

Best style advice you’ve ever given or received?
Change your earrings. When you feel like cutting your hair off, just change up your accessories. It’s just as impactful and won’t leave you in tears the next morning when you realize what you’ve done.

What’s the one thing in your closet that you couldn’t live without?
My denim shorts. I’m a Floridian and we have one season: HOT. Our winters bottom out at around 60 degrees and that’s only for a few weeks, so I live in my shorts year round.

What’s the one thing in your closet that you couldn’t live without?
Passion. And that goes for anything, to be successful, you must first love what you do. Especially when it comes to blogging because as we all know, it is mostly a labor of love and will stay that way for a long time, success is the byproduct of sticking with what you love to do and following your dreams no matter how many times people tell you not to.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I started blogging a little over two years ago when I was in my senior year of high school. I wanted a fun, creative outlet where I could share my love of fashion and travel with others with similar interests. Since then, I’ve learned so much about about social media, photography, brand collaborations, editing programs, and the art of a flatlay! Along with blogging, I’m currently going to school full time as well as working part time at various jobs. Within the last two years I’ve been blessed with many opportunities in the industry like working backstage at fashion shows for Koziak Productions, styling photo shoots with Dynamite Editorials, and becoming a personal shopping assistant at Fashion Island. In my free time, you can usually find me spending time with friends, family and my puppy, at the beach, volunteering with my church, or binge watching Netflix.

If you could sneak into anyone’s closet whose would you peek at?
Kourtney Kardashian. I absolutely adore her style and would love to take a peek at her incredible closet!

Ciera-Headshot

What style rule do you always follow?
When I think of style rules I think about one in particular I always heard growing up: “No White After Labor Day.” For the longest time I tried my best to follow it, but living in Southern California where the weather is practically always warm and sunshine made me realize that this rule was pretty silly (especially because “winter whites” is totally a thing!) I would say that the one rule I always follow is to be myself and wear what I’m most comfortable in.

What is your favorite quote?
“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future” – Proverbs 31:25.

What inspired your blog?
My passion for writing, traveling, and fashion inspired me to start a blog of my own. I had followed along with a few beauty/fashion blogs and always loved getting inspiration through them. I wanted a space where I could express myself and share my photos, experiences, and style tips with others, and thought that starting my own blog would be a fun way to do so!

Three things that are always in your purse?
My wallet, Benefit’s “Hello Flawless!” pressed powder, and peppermint Chapstick.

Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
I’m always on Pinterest re-pinning style inspiration and following along with many other bloggers in the community. I try my best to come up with new ideas or put my own creative spin on posts so that I have a unique voice that sets me apart from other bloggers.

Best style advice you’ve ever given or received?
Don’t be afraid to try out new things or experiment with your style! My style is always evolving and I think that’s what makes it fun and personal.

What’s the one thing in your closet that you couldn’t live without?
A good pair of comfy jeggings! I have the hardest time finding jeans, so when I find a good pair that fits perfectly I wear them all the time! You can dress them up or down and it’s my favorite casual thing to wear on the weekend.

In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
Passion and creativity! You could have thousands of followers, but without those two things I don’t think you can have a truly successful blog. People also really take notice when you truly have a love for what you do and have a unique sense of style.

Also, remember to carry a purse that secures so you don’t lose your cash.

Shop on Thanksgiving Day.
If you have Thanksgiving dinner earlier in the day, you can start your Black Friday shopping early! Many stores such as Target, Macy’s and Old Navy are opening their doors at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Beat the rush and shop on Thanksgiving at your favorite stores to find the best fashion.

Shop Online on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

TIP: Choose outfits that incorporate rich fall colors such as brown and purple hues. A pumpkin patch consists of dirt and hay all around so place so you make sure you are wearing closed toed shoes or boots. Also, enjoy your visit and don’t forget to take a picture with your very own pumpkin!

Flared Pants have made their Come Back!

This season, there is one item that has made a comeback from the 70’s and it is flared pants! Flared pants can be characterized by having a tight and skinny fit through the leg until it becomes wider from the knee down, also known as bell-bottoms. We still love our skinny jeans and leggings but the time has come to switch up your style to flared-leg silhouettes. The whole point of flares is to create a long and lean silhouette but they are not easy to style. Flares and heels were made for each other. Flared pants look best with platforms and pumps. We have listed a few tips to help you style your flared pants the correct way:

  1. High–waisted pants are considered to start above your belly button. Wearing your flared pants high on your waist will help you show off those curves. Throw on a crop top and add some bangles to your outfit for more of a bohemian look. If you don’t want to wear your pants as high then opt for a pair that is considered mid rise. Mid-rise is considered to start above your hipbones. Keep into consideration the length of the pants though because flared pants were worn very high back in the days. So if you were flared pants lower, you can easily hem the bottom to fit your body appropriately.251478c987a4c1ff9a4d895a242bf25c
  1. Picking the proper shirt is key when styling flared pants. In order to keep emphasis on your waist and thighs, it is important that you choose a shirt that is cropped or even a longer shirt tucked inside of your pants. Wearing a longer shirt will conceal your stomach area and may be more comfortable for you.BoeWfCI1GoroesG8y61gbYFDp7nP2sKRSYyX30jj7NU,VRyyjc1JqP155s5TGGIOSf8CwzsiBy5OnbkQf4xgGBM,QKczm5HbhCBnCB2DMPGwSARcoDVIViDhYTsAPRueNW0,joN1X_LNC-4JM8eaR-kvm1QZ2VTXlbW3HUb2t0LnhIw
  1. Selecting the right heels for your flared pants is important too. You want to wear a pair of heels that are not too low or too high. You do not want to be tripping on your pants, so the bottom of the flared pants should skim the floor just enough for you to show off your heels or shoe choice. Remember that you should only be showing the tip of your shoe though, not the back. Back in the 1970’s, flared pants were worn with heels so if you decide to rock a pair yourself, you have to dress like you mean it, with a flare!7869e6b30c1bbba843417b26d784de37

The best part of flared pants is that they can be worn casually with sandals or dressed up with heels or boots. Whether you want to pull off the bohemian, feminine, or edgy look, flared pants have are going to be your new best friend. Make sure to choose a style that you feel most comfortable to wear. These pants are sure to make your legs look miles long and will instantly add sophistication to any outfit.

In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
I think there are several factors that play into whether a blog will be successful. Sometimes it’s pure luck in landing the right exposure by the right people. However, even with the right exposure, a blog must be consistent in its posting routine and have high quality photos. Everyone’s on the go, so your blog should be mobile friendly. Your writing should connect and make sense to your readers – please check grammar and spelling! I also believe that your blog should have a purpose, whether it is to document your style or inspire others. Without a true purpose, it’ll get lost and overlooked.
